Farmer’s Cooperative Grain Policies

Afton – Arispe – Creston – Diagonal – Macksburg – Mount Ayr – Osceola - Shenandoah


Disposition of Grain: Driver will provide accurate information to the scale operator as to the owner’s name or names and division of the grain (sell, store, grain bank, price later, etc.) Please notify the scale operator of the last load. Grain with no instructions will be stored.

Contracted Grain: Grain delivered against a sale contract will be applied to the oldest contract first. No early delivery of contracted grain is allowed without prior approval. If delivered early, payment will not be made any earlier than if delivered as contracted.

Deferred Payment: Grain may be placed on deferred payment prior to settlement time. Once grain is placed on deferred payment, it can not be changed.

Direct Shipment: All grain delivered to an area processor or terminal under the account of Farmers Cooperative will be settled on a load by load basis and discounted using the respective destination'sdiscount schedule.

Treated Grains: Any and all treated grains will be rejected. No exceptions!

Untarping: All trucks must be untarped before pulling on scales.

No Averaging: Grain will be settled on a load by load basis.

Plugged Loads: Loads with obvious grade differences that are observed at unloading, in varying parts of the load will be subject to re-inspection and possible rejection.

Hours: Dumping hours will be extended during the harvest season to accommodate your harvest needs. Hours will be posted at each location and are subject to change due to weather, space, etc.

Storage Rates: Grain placed in storage will have a MINIMUM charge of 12 cents for the first 90 days.  Storage will then be calculated at a rate of $0.0014 per bushel per day. GRAIN THAT DOESN'T MEET US #2 GRADES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE PLACED INTO STORAGE.  Storage is to be brought up to date annually.

Grain Bank Storage: Will be calculated at $0.0009 dollars per bushel per day. There will be no charge for the first 60 days.

Price Later Charges: Grain placed on a Price Later Contract will have a minimum charge of 6 cents for the first 30 days and thereafter will be accessed a service charge of $0.0014 dollars per day until sold. All grain placed on Priced Later Contract at harvest must be sold by August 31st, 2013.

CORN

Drying Charges: 4 cents per point of moisture removed.

Shrink Factor: 1.17% moisture plus .28 % handling equals 1.45% per point of moisture removed.

Test Weight: 2¢ discount per bushel/pound 53.9 – 50#  3¢ discount per bushel/pound less than 49.9#

Foreign Material:  $.02/bu./pt. over 3.0%   $.03/bu./pt. over 5.0%   Corn with excessive cob subject to rejection.

Damage Discount: $.02 each 1% over 5%;   $.03 each % over 10%; $.04 each % over 20%

Heat Damage: 2¢/bu. .3 to .5%   3¢/bu. Each .5% up to a maximum of 4%

Other Factors: Sour: 10¢/bu. Musty: 10¢/bu. Weevily: 10¢/bu. Heating: 10¢/bu COFO: 10¢/bu.

SOYBEANS

MOISTURE WILL ONLY BE AVERAGED ON BEANS UP TO 14%.  ALL BEANS OVER 14.1% WILL NOT BE AVERAGED.

Moisture: 1.5% of selling price each ½ pt. over 13.0   3% of selling price each ½ pt. over 15.0   Beans testing 15.5 or higher will not be stored.

Foreign Material: 1.0% allowable. Excess will be subtracted from weigth. Soybeans with excessive pods and stems subject to rejection.

Damage: Allowed 2.0%

Heat Damage: Allowed 0.2%

Splits: 1/4¢/bu. Each 10% over 20%

Other:  Sour: 10¢ Musty: 10¢ COFO: 10¢

Green Bean Discount: 1¢ each 5% up to 20%

OATS

Moisture Discount:  3¢/bu./pt. Max 15%

Test Weight:  2¢/bu. 37.9 – 36.0   2¢/bu. 35.9 – 32.0   4¢/bu. 35 – 35.9   4¢/bu. 31.9 and below

Foreign Material  2¢/bu./pt. over 3%. Other grain is considered F.M.

Other Factors:  Musty: 10¢/bu. Heating: 10¢/bu. Weevily: 10¢/bu.
